Functional workout

Kraftausdauer, Koordination & Geschwindigkeit

Strength & endurance, coordination & speed

First of all – I’m so happy about your positive feedback on my „sport collection’s“ first post „Hot Iron“. Therefore I’m introducing a further important part of my fitness program: Functional workout. That’s an individual or group training combining exercises for strenght, endurance, flexibility and coordination to stabilize body, activate deep muscels, improve sensory-motor & coordinative skills and tighten body-silhouette. Free exercises on the step, with medicine balls, tubes, rings, kettlebell, sandbags and others don’t pump up muscles excessive and superficial, but rather stabilize whole body and make muscle insertions, tendons and joints fit. My gym Injoy Wien offers courses for functional workout including 10 – 15 stations, where you alternating have to train for 30 seconds followed by 30 seconds. And all that in 2 – 3 passes – so complete workout will last around 45 – 60 minutes.

Body weight for training resistance

Daniele Mlecka, trainer & physiotherapist at Injoy Wien: „Functional training has been used for physiotherapy for many years. Burdening of body can be varied individually, because training resistance is mainly your own weight. This kind of training is particularly important, cause strong and improved trunk muscles are the basis of a healthy and well trained body.“ And for me it’s particularly important to combine in a balanced and healthy way strenght and endurance and to form and define my muscles – therefore I like functional training. And additional I like the „boot camp attitude“ 🙂 … You can see pics of my training below, a short video is available here! – Do you know functional workout? Would you like it?

PS.: I’m nominated for „Austria’s Fashion & Lifestyle Blog Award“! Please don’t forget to vote for me, cause every single vote of you counts <3 … Would be so happy if you support me becoming Austria’s blog of year 2013!
