My „black & white“ Vienna

 

Heute gebe ich Euch wieder mal drei ganz persönliche Wien-Tipps! Dieses Mal zum Thema „schwarz-weiß & Wien“ – passend zu meiner aktuellen collection 😉 ….
Today I wan’t to give you once more three personal tips on Vienna! This time on the topic of „black-white & Vienna“ – according to my current collection 😉 …

1. DOTS

Die Restaurants DOTS verbinde ich nicht nur mit leckerem Sushi, sondern auch stylischem Design in schwarz-weiß. Sowohl das DOTS im 19., als auch auf der Mariahilfer Straße. Einzig der neue DOTS-Ableger im 21er Haus tanzt optisch und vom lukullischen Angebot her aus der Reihe. Mein Vorhaben für das nächste Wochenende: Ich wohne zwar ganz in der Nähe des neuen DOTS twentyone, habe es aber bisher noch nicht auf ein Frühstück mit anschließendem Besuch des 21er Hauses (Museum für zeitgenössische Kunst) geschafft.  Wer von Euch war schon dort oder hat es vor?

When I think of the restaurants DOTS I’m thinking about delicious sushi and stylish design in black & white. Both DOTS in the 19th district and on the Mariahilfer Straße. DOTS in „21er Haus“ falls out of line. My plan for the next weekend: I’m living near the new DOTS twentyone, but I’ve didn’t managed going there for a breakfast and visiting the 21er Haus (museum of contemporary art) up to now. 2. Breitenseer Lichtspiele

 Wien verfügt nicht nur über die größte innerstädtische Rebfläche weltweit (siehe „blue collection: My Vienna„), sondern auch über das älteste Kino bzw. den ältesten Kinobetrieb der Welt: die „Breitenseer Lichtspiele„. Wer also mal Kinounterhaltung fernab von Mainstream, 3D & Dolby Surround genießen will, sollte dieses Kino besuchen. Tipp: Spezielle Events! Letztes Wochenende beispielsweise wurde der Stummfilmklassiker „The three Musketeers“ (1921) gespielt, live (!) begleitet von Stummfilm-Pianist Gerhard Gruber.
Vienna can be proud of not only having the biggest urban vineyard worldwide (see „blue collection: My Vienna„), but also having world’s oldest cinema: the „Breitenseer Lichtspiele„. Those who want to enjoy cinema entertainment far from mainstream, 3D & dolby surround, should visit this cinema. Tip: Special events! Last weekend for example the cinema has shown the silent film classic „The three Musketeers“ (1921), accompanied by a live (!) performance of silent movie pianist Gerhard Gruber.

3. Vienna’s Shooting Girls

Noch bis zum 3.3.2013 gibt es im Jüdischen Museum – Palais Eskeles, die Ausstellung „Vienna’s Shooting Girls – jüdische Fotografinnen aus Wien„. Die Fotos sollen einen Blick auf das moderne Frauenbild der ersten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts werfen. Als Bloggerin interessiert mich diese Ausstellung besonders: Wie hat sich das Frauenbild gewandelt? Was war damals „en vogue“? Wie schauen die analogen schwarz-weiß Fotos im Vergleich zu den heutigen digitalen & retuschierten Fotos aus? Werde also in den nächsten Wochen den Vergleich anstellen 🙂 …

Until march 3d the Jewish Museum – Palais Eskeles presents the exhibition „Vienna’s Shooting Girls – jewish female photographers from Vienna„. The pictures should take a look at modern image of women in the first half of the twentieth century. As a blogger I’m especially interested in this exhibition: How the image of women has moved? What has been en vogue in that time? How do the analogue black & white pictures look compared to current digital & retouched pictures? I’m looking forward to this comparison in the next weeks 🙂 …
